Lighter hiking trails

Walking along the southern coast you have the opportunity to gaze upon the majestic hills that rise up in front of you. Some days it feels like the hills are close enough to touch while on others they seem to be on the other end of the world — both gorgeous views to behold. Depending on how clear the day is, you can sometimes see the occasional tree or the fairways of the Mölle Golf Club. Go as far as you want to the best of your ability. Below are some pointers to help you along the way.

Easy and smooth hiking paths:
Dagshög: 2.5 km, takes about 1.25 hours round trip
Burensvik: 3.5 km, takes about 1.45 hours round trip.
Rammsjöstrand: 4.7 km, takes about 2.30 hours round trip.

More challenging hiking trails

Walk along the northern coast towards Hovs Hallar and Båstad. Or follow the Skåneleden trail all the way to the end. Pass the Gröthögarna burial ground that rests just below Torekovs GK, a mythic place where women are said to have stood and cried in bitter mourning. By Hovs Hallar a more challenging hike awaits you — it’s a route that requires a bit of agility and fearlessness when it comes to heights. However, the reward is the experience of a beautiful place in the very heart of nature.

Gröthögarna: 5.5 km, takes about 2.6 hours round trip.
Ingelstorpstrand: 8 km, takes about 4.5 hours round trip.
Hovs Hallar: 10.5 km, takes about 6.2 hours round trip.

Our 6 favourite hiking routes

HALLAND’S VÄDERÖ
Hallands Väderö (Halland Weather Island) is a beautiful area, situated just outside Torekov. The whole island is a nature reserve, and especially given its vastness is one of Sweden’s most beautiful places. Around the island there are several marked hiking trails that take you around forest landscapes, open countryside and along cliffs and sandy beaches. Be sure to visit the lighthouse and the Weather Museum. The harbor seals that dot the island are one of its most beautiful and famous features, so make sure to keep an eye out.

DAGSHÖG
2.5 km | 30 mins, easy trail
Dagshög is the largest of Skåne’s nearly one thousand burial mounds. With a diameter of 42 metres, it is quite a sight to behold located in the heart of Skälderviken beach. Just next to the burial mound you will find a quarry ruin which today stands as a memorial to the quarry that was in operation in the early 1900s. Below the ruins there lies a secret and shimmering pond that glows with red water lilies in the spark of summer.
Find it here: Simply follow the orange markers on the Skåneleden trail via the path just below the Torekov Hotel.

HOVS HALLAR
Hovs Hallar is one of Bjäre Peninsula’s premier little nooks. You can see the dramatic meeting point of the Hallandsåsen and the sea, with steep jagged cliffs, cobblestone fields, and cave-like rock formations. There are a number of trails you can follow, both along the beach and higher up.

AROUND GREVIE BACKAR
5 km | 1.5 hours
The Grevie hillside is full of stone ridges that abound with exciting history. The views of the rolling countryside and Skälderviken are breathtaking. Large parts of these slopes are occupied by open farmland, but there are also smaller forested areas, covered fields and wetlands. A gorgeous and extraordinary experience are the thousands of protected Pasque flowers, whose blue violet color bathes the southern slopes during the last half of April.
